“ Me and my family were visiting Portland for a couple of days and I highly recommend this place if you are in a crave of Vietnamese Bun Bo Hue. First walking in, it reminds me so much like home with the amazing decor and service was insanely fast for how busy it was. I ordered the regular Bun Bo Hue and was surprised how delicious and rich the broth is. The noodles to meat selection is amazing offering just the perfect amount for both. My only suggestion would be maybe making the broth a bit spicy by adding a bit more saute to the broth. Luckily they have extras on the side where you can personally customize how spicy you want it. Biggest tip: add some shrimp paste to your noodles, this is a big game changer in making the broth more umami. Overall, this was an amazing time coming here and the food here is delicious. Definitely recommend this place, would come back here when I'm around Portland again! ”

“ Cozy soup spot for a rain-filled Sunday afternoon! There was no wait when we arrived and were promptly directed to choose any available table. Waitstaff was extremely kind and polite. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with cute and tasteful decor. A simplistic restaurant with only 3 options (no menus btw!) We opted for Bon Bo Hue (Spicy Beef Soup) and Pho Bo (Beef), saving the Pho Ga (Chicken) for another time. Complimentary hot tea was provided which was perfect for a cold and gloomy Portland day. The Bon Bo Hue was flavorful and rich, but not spicy in the slightest. Definitely would have appreciated some heat. The noodles were thick and enjoyable. The fish cake and beef were solid. I avoided the tendon and pork blood as I'm not a big fan of those and instead fed them to my boyfriend. He liked the tendons but not so much the pork blood (not that they were bad, just an acquired taste and texture). The Beef Pho was standard. Not mind blowing, but good enough to get it again. The beef was tender and tasty. A plus, as not all pho come with soft meats. The broth was what you'd expect from a pho restaurant. The plates of garnishes were piled high which was nice. Overall, a decent and pleasant place to grab a quick and casual meal. ”

“ I love this place! This place does bun no hue simple & traditional. They only have two things on the menu, bun bo hue & pho. It never takes more than 5 minutes for the food to come out. The bun bo hue comes out hot with a side plate of garnishes (that I forgot to snap a pic of! Oops) filled with banana flower (my fave), lime, bean sprouts, lettuce, and other herbs I am unsure of the name of. I love to add all the banana flower, bean sprouts, and lettuce. Gives that crunch to the soft vermicelli noodles. This place is traditional so you will get pork hock & pork blood in your bowl if you don't ask for them to take it out. I like it all in there though. The place is cute, they have little vespas in the front giving it that Vietnam touch. It's super clean & something about the atmosphere makes it feel like you can eat alone there which I love. Nice for a quick bite & go! No need to feel the need call someone up to eat here but of course you always can. After all, this place is delicious & you should always let your friends know the good food spots! ”

“ Was glad to find this bun bo hue place in Portland. I came during the pandemic and so dine-in was not allowed. I ordered take out for 2 orders. They only have 2-3 things on their menu, so you know this place specializes in their broth!! The decor in here showcased the Vietnamese culture and was well-lit despite not being able to take dine-ins. I came here because I saw the amount of good reviews for this place. And this place did NOT disappoint!! It hit the spot with the rainy weather. It was a cozy, spicy, warming bowl of bun bo hue that came with everything I expect in this dish. I appreciate that it came with the banana blossom herb, because not a lot of places do that. This is one of the signs that is an authentic place. The pork blood was fresh. Let me just say, the broth was everything!! Broths are extremely important to me and a lot of places that sell bun bo hue don't put enough spices in it. The spices are what makes the broth. Teo did not skimp on the amount of lemongrass in this broth either. When you first take a sip of the broth, you get hit with the lemongrass, the sate, and the beefiness altogether and it is absolutely a moment in heaven. If you are in PDX and be craving Vietnamese food, especially on a rainy day, come here to get your fix! When I'm in town next time, I'll definitely come to try their pho. ”

“ No menu as they only offer three items, simple. The Bun Bo Hue was the star of the show, but the chicken pho was right up there with the best in town. Love the type of ice tea they serve. Pleasant service and overall atmosphere. And real Sriracha at every table. ”
